This article walks you through how to invite new users to your 3Play Media account, assign appropriate permissions, and manage the email notifications they receive. Properly configuring user access ensures efficient project collaboration and secure control over account activities.

A Pro or Enterprise level 3Play Media account is required.
Steps to Invite a User and Assign Permissions
Step 1: Navigate to Manage Users Page
- From the account dashboard, click on the Settings gear icon below your profile name in the top right corner, then under Basic Settings.
- Navigate to Manage Users.
Step 2: Click “+ New Super User OR + New Project User”
- Click the + New Super User OR + New Project User button on the Manage Users tab.
Step 3: Enter User Information and Assign Permissions

Enter the user's details email address and select the appropriate permissions.

Enter the user's first name, last name, job title, and email address. Then, select the appropriate permissions from the available options.
Step 4: Grant Access and Send Account Invitation

Click Create User to grant access and send the invitation for the user to set up their account.
- The user will receive an email prompting them to create a 3Play Media login or accept the invitation if they already have an account.
Note: For Super Users, full account access (all projects) is automatically granted. For Project Users, permissions apply only to the specific project they are assigned to and do not carry over to future projects like they do for Super Users. |
Understanding User Permissions
Here is a breakdown of available permissions:

Note: *If you are inviting a user to an individual project, Manage Invoices and Billing will not be an option unless the account is configured by 3Play Media for Project-Level Billing. |
Email Notifications and Permission Behavior
Users will receive email notifications based on their assigned permissions and project involvement. These include:
- Alert (based on their permissions) about file status updates, errors, review readiness, auto-uploads, and billing activity.
