Before You Start
- Make sure your video is available in 3Play through a connected YouTube account or direct upload. See Get Started for setup instructions.
- If an option is grayed out, it isn’t currently available for your account or project. Contact your account administrator if you need access.
- If you’re ordering dubbing, choose your target languages before you begin. Pricing varies by language and service tier, so having your language list ready makes ordering easier.
- Have your payment method ready, or confirm that your account uses monthly invoicing.
- Confirm that you have permission to place orders. If your access is limited to specific tasks, such as managing billing, you may not have permission to order services. Contact your account administrator if you need additional access.
Choose Your Service and Tier
1. Select your video and start an order
From All Media, select one or more videos using the checkboxes. Click Order, then choose Start a New Order or Start from a Saved Template if you already have one.
If you choose Start from a Saved Template, your saved order settings are automatically applied, and you’re taken directly to the final step of the ordering process. Review your Order Summary, confirm your payment method and order details, then click Submit Order when you’re ready.
2. Choose your service
Choose the services you want to order. You can select multiple services for the same video and customize each one based on your needs.
3. Choose your service tier
Available service tiers vary based on the service you choose. Review the available options and choose the tier that best fits your quality, level of human involvement, deliverable requirements, and budget.
For Captions: Choose Your Placement
Choose the placement option that best fits your content.
No Placement is the default option and displays captions in the lower third of the screen.
Auto Placement automatically adjusts caption positioning to avoid covering important on-screen text, such as end cards, buttons, or other graphics.
Manual Placement gives you more control over where captions appear on screen.
For Dubbing: Choose Your Languages
For Dubbing orders, select multiple target languages at once and choose the service tier that best fits your needs for each language. Add all the languages you want to reach, then customize the tier for each one before continuing your order.
You can also add Dub Script Captions, which provide captions that match the spoken audio in the finished dubbed track.
Set Your Turnaround and Any Instructions
Choose the turnaround time that fits your schedule.
Default provides the standard business-day turnaround.
ASAP provides faster delivery at an additional cost.
Relaxed provides a longer turnaround at a reduced rate.
You can also add Order Instructions for additional guidance. Keep instructions clear and concise for the best results.
Review, Submit, and Save for Next Time
Review your Order Summary to confirm your services, order settings, and payment method.
If you plan to use the same settings again, save your order as a template. Your template keeps your selected services, tiers, placement, turnaround, languages, and other order settings for future orders.
When everything looks correct, select Submit Order.
The next time you place an order, select Start from a Saved Template to apply those settings automatically and go directly to the final review step.
Example: A Weekly Upload Schedule
A creator publishes a new video every week and orders the same services for each episode. They choose Refine Captions with Auto Placement, add Spanish and Portuguese Dubbing at the Creator tier, choose Default turnaround, and save these settings as a template called “Weekly Upload.”
For each new episode, the creator selects the video, chooses the Weekly Upload template, reviews the order, and submits it.
What Happens Next
Once you place your order, it appears in All Media with an In Progress status. When your order is finished, the status changes to Completed.
Tips and Considerations
- Use the final version of your video whenever possible to avoid unnecessary changes after you place your order.
- Review your project settings before placing your first order to make sure your preferences and available services meet your needs.
- Use Order Instructions to share important guidance that is specific to your order.
- If a service or tier is grayed out, check your Order Restrictions or contact your account administrator to confirm that you have access.
- If you regularly order the same languages, tiers, or services, save your settings as a template to make future orders faster.
- Dub Script Captions are separate from standard captions. Dub Script Captions match the spoken audio in the finished dub, while standard captions are based on the source content.
