Before You Start

Connect Your YouTube Channel
Next, connect your YouTube channel so your video catalog is available in 3Play and you can easily select videos when you’re ready to place an order.
Before you connect, you can review the permissions 3Play requests and how each one is used. Some permissions are required to import and work with your videos, while analytics permissions are optional.
Select Connect to YouTube, then follow the prompts to:
- Choose the Google account connected to your YouTube channel.
- Choose the account or brand account you want to connect.
- Review the permissions requested by 3Play.
- Allow access to complete the connection.
If you’re not ready to connect your channel, select Skip for now. You can connect your YouTube channel later from Settings > Integrations.
Why does 3Play ask for YouTube permissions?
The permissions you grant determine what 3Play can access and help you get more from your connected channel.
- Manage your YouTube account (Required): Imports your channel and video catalog, including titles, descriptions, and runtime, so you can order dubs without uploading videos manually.
- Download your public YouTube videos (Required): Allows 3Play to retrieve your source video to produce dubbed audio.
- View YouTube Analytics reports (Optional): Allows 3Play to use views, watch time, and audience data to help recommend videos and languages to prioritize and show how your dubs perform.
- View monetary and non-monetary YouTube Analytics reports (Optional): Allows 3Play to use CPM and estimated revenue by country to help identify languages that may offer opportunities to grow your audience and revenue.
You can revoke these permissions at any time through your Google account.
Name Your Account
Enter the name you want to use for your 3Play account, then select Continue. This is the name you see when working in your account.
Choose Your Dubbing Languages
Select the languages you’re interested in dubbing. You can choose from the suggested languages or browse the full list of available languages. You can always add more languages later.
When you’re ready, select Let’s go.
Find Your Way Around the Homepage
After setup, you land on All Media, where you can see all the videos added to your account, including new, in progress, or completed.
Use the tabs on the left to quickly find what you need:
- All media: see all your videos in one place.
- Starred: find videos you marked for easy access.
- Recent uploads: see your newest videos.
- Recently completed: find videos completed in the last 30 days.
- Archive: find videos you’ve archived and are no longer actively using.
You can also create folders to keep your videos organized, such as by series or season.
Upload a Video Directly
If you have videos that aren’t available through your connected YouTube channel, or you prefer to upload them manually, you can add them directly from All Media.
1. Select Upload
From All Media, select Upload
2. Choose your videos
Drag and drop one or more videos into the upload window, or browse your computer to select them. Your videos need to be saved on your computer before you upload them.
3. Organize your files
After you select your files, you can rename them, add more files, or reorganize them as needed before uploading.
4. Confirm your upload
When everything looks right, select Confirm to start uploading your files.
Example: Setting Up a Weekly Upload Channel
If you publish a new YouTube video each week, you only need to connect your channel once. After that, your new videos appear automatically under Integrations, where you can select the videos you want to order services for. There’s no need to upload each video manually.
What Happens Next
Once your video is added to your library, you’re ready to place your first order.
Tips and Considerations
- Before you place an order, your video needs to be available through your connected YouTube channel or uploaded directly.
- Connecting your YouTube channel makes it easier to work with new videos as you publish them, so you don’t need to upload each one separately.
- You can skip the YouTube connection during initial setup and connect your channel later from Settings > Integrations.
- When you connect YouTube, 3Play imports information about your videos so you can browse and select them in the platform. The source video file is downloaded when you place an order.
- Before placing your first order, we recommend reviewing your account settings to confirm your languages, order preferences, glossaries, team access, and billing information are set up for your needs.
