Set Up and Manage Voice Casting for Dubbing – 3Play Media Support

Before you've ordered dubbing, set up the voices you want to use for each language. Your cast list helps you keep the same voices across future videos, giving your audience a consistent experience from one video to the next.

Before You Start

Choose the languages you plan to dub so you can assign voices for each one.
Set up your voice assignments before you place your dubbing order. Once dub processing starts for a language, you cannot change its voice assignment.

Choose Between a Cloned or Casted Voice

You can use a cloned voice that sounds like you or choose a casted voice from the Voice Library for your dubbed content. Whichever option you choose, using the same voice consistently helps create a familiar experience for your audience across languages and videos.

Browse the Voice Library

Go to Voices > Library, then search or filter voices by Language, Age Range, Gender, and Adjectives (for example, smooth, young, or authoritative).

Build a Cast List

A cast list helps you use the same voice for yourself or any recurring speaker on your channel across your videos.

1. Create your cast list

Go to Voices > Cast Lists, then select Create Cast List. Enter a name you’ll recognize, such as your channel name, then select Create.

2. Add yourself or each recurring speaker as a cast member

Select Add Cast Member, enter a name for the member (for example, your channel name or “Host”), and assign a voice for each target language.

3. Set it as your default

Select Set as Default, then choose whether to apply the cast list to your project or a specific folder. Any new video added there automatically uses the same cast list, so you're not re-casting voices every episode.

Update an Existing Cast List

As your dubbing needs change, you can add languages, change voice assignments, or remove languages from an existing cast list.

Add a New Language

Open your existing cast list, then select the Languages dropdown.
Type the language name in the search box or scroll through the available languages, then select the language you want to add.
The new language appears as an additional column in your cast list.
Assign a voice for each cast member in the new language.
You can add and assign voices for multiple languages as needed.

Update a Voice Assignment

To change a voice assignment, select the dropdown next to the assigned voice, then select a different voice.
To clear a voice assignment, select the X next to the assigned voice.

Remove a Language

Open the Languages dropdown, then click on the language you want to remove. The language column is removed from your cast list.
If the language has existing voice assignments, you’re prompted to confirm that you want to remove the column.

Note: Removing a language also deletes the existing voice assignments for that language. This cannot be undone.

Example: A Creator Expanding to New Languages

A YouTube creator starts dubbing their channel into Spanish and Portuguese. They create one cast list, add themselves as a cast member, and choose their voice for both languages. They set the cast list as the default for their project, so new videos automatically use their voice in both languages without any extra setup.

Later, they begin dubbing into French. Instead of creating a new cast list, they add French to their existing cast list and assign a French voice to each cast member. Their cast list now includes all three languages and can continue to be used as they add new videos.

What Happens Next

Once you set a cast list as the default, new videos in that project or folder automatically use the same voice assignments. As your dubbing needs change, update your existing cast list to keep your languages, cast members, and voice assignments up-to-date.

Tips and Considerations

Choose your voices before submitting your dubbing order. Once dub processing starts for a language, you can’t change the voice assignments for that language.
If you regularly add new videos to your channel, setting a default cast list saves you from choosing voices for each new video.
When adding a new dubbing language, remember to add that language to your existing cast list and assign a voice for each cast member.
