Other Language Transcription: Ordering from the Account System

Note: If content contains instances of speech in a language other than what was ordered, the additional language/s will be tagged in the source language. For example, if a German video is upload for German transcription/captioning but contains some moments of French, the French would be tagged [Frnzösisch sprechen].

Other Language Transcription allows you to upload videos that are in a source language other than English or Spanish. Follow the steps below to upload source content directly within the account system for transcription and closed captioning services in the following languages:

Please note this article details the processing when uploading using the From Computer method, however all menu options that display during the process will be exactly the same regardless of the account system upload method selected. The only part of the process that will vary is the actual uploading of media.

Step 1- Click Upload Media

Click Upload Media located on the upper, left-hand side of the page.

Step 2- Choose Upload Method

Other Language Transcription requests can be made directly within the 3Play Media account system using either the From Computer, From Links, or Linked Account upload method. For uploading via Linked Account, only integrations that allow uploading directly from within the 3Play account system will have the option to order Other Language Transcription.

Step 3- Start Uploads

Once Upload Media is clicked you are directed by default to Upload Media > From Computer. Click Choose Files and select the media files from your computer.

Choose Media files needing closed captions transcription

Upload 8 media files at a time using the direct upload method.
Once files have been selected they will be listed in the upload queue.

To proceed, click Start Uploads.

Step 4- Choose Your Language

Once Start Uploads is clicked the Upload Options menu will display.
Click on the Choose Your Language dropdown menu.

Note: The Transcription and Captioning option is selected by default.

From the Choose Your Language dropdown menu, select the language that corresponds to the speech in the media file(s).

Vertical Caption Placement

Check the box Add Caption Placement under Add-On Services to also include this additional service in the order.

Click Continue.

Step 5- Note Estimated Turnaround Time

Once Continue is clicked, a Turnaround Time will display for the order. Please note that this is an estimated delivery time. An updated delivery time will be available once your upload is complete.

Step 6- Select a Folder

Select an existing folder to upload content to or create a new folder for this upload.
Once a folder has been designated, click Continue.


Step 7- Review Order and Cancellation Policy

Review the order summary.

If the destination folder, language, or selected media files listed in the order summary need to be changed, please go back and make the desired changes BEFORE clicking Place Order.

Read the cancelation policy and check the box acknowledging that you have read the policy.


Step 8- Place Order

Once the order has been reviewed, click Place Order and the files will begin uploading.

Once the Other Language Transcription has been completed, you may order a Translation for the file to be translated into English. See more information on how to order Translation for a file.
