Open Caption Encoding Styles

This article outlines some of the styling and formatting available for caption encodings ordered through 3Play Media.

By default, 3Play outputs encoded captions in the same format as the source media that was imported for encoding. However, M4V format can be ordered as needed for players such as Quicktime and others.

IMPORTANT NOTE: M4V cannot be ordered for Standout and Bottom Bar formats at this time. The only way to receive Standout and Bottom Bar encoded captions as an M4V file is to upload the source media as an M4V file.

See examples for the three different styles of caption encoding that can be ordered

Vertical Caption Placement

Open Caption Encodings can support Vertical Caption Placement except Bottom Bar Open Captions. Please contact your account manager to enable this option.
